The Calico Coyote Cloggers are a precision/exhibition/competition team based in Winter Haven, Florida. This group of energetic and talented dancers perform regularly at local craft fairs, bluegrass festivals, fund-raisers, nursing homes and private functions. They have performed at Cypress Gardens, The Magic Kingdom, Disney Village and EPCOT. These dancers represent some of the best cloggers in the state of Florida and have won numerous awards in both team and individual categories. DO YOU LOVE TO PERFORM? Join our performance troupe in our regularly scheduled performances. The performance troupe is continually updating their show and offer seasonal productions for Christmas and St. Patrick's Day. Classes are instructed by a certified instructor and are offered for beginner, intermediate and advanced dancers. Although we are not classified as a dance school, be assured that your dancer will get the high level of clogging instruction that you would expect from any local dance school. Tuition is lower and class sizes are smaller, allowing each dancer to receive individual attention as needed. | Clogging is a percussive dance style that somewhat resembles tap dancing or Irish step dancing but with its own unique style. A double tap is used on the toe and heel of the dancer's shoe and emphasis is placed on the downbeat of the music. Originally accompanied by fiddle and bluegrass music, modern precision clogging is done to a wide variety of music including country, pop, hip-hop, rock n' roll, show tunes and the old standby, bluegrass! |
